That kinda made me upset because I wanted to pet one again. I have been missing that lately. I just think I'm missing animals more than I can even admit to myself, so I guessing that's a lot. I think on Friday I'm going to visit the Animal Alliance. That will help.
Ummm. I think I kinda got sidetracked. Oops. Back to the story: I realized it was non-pettable Skatter, so I just tried to get him to feel more comfortable around me. I kept still in a squatting position so that I didn't seem as threatening. He would jog/bound up to me and then get close to my hand. He realized I didn't have anything for him, so he skattered off. (Thus, how he got his name).
Well, I got close to him. He would come up to me again and again. I made little kissy noises and he seemed to like the sound, or was curious...I don't know. So he would scamper up to me and sniff. He was so damn cute when he would sit on his hind legs and be on the lookout (like a little prarie dog or something). He would sniff the air and look around; his off-white belly standing out among the field of oranges and reds of fallen leaves. He was adorable.
Too bad I got frustrated that he wouldn't let me pet him. I guess he was just too afraid. Bummer for me, I suppose. This gives me more and more reason to go to the Animal Alliance this Friday. In fact, I think I'll write it in my planner!
I'm a dork, don't mind me.
