Apparently, my CMOS battery is dead again! And when I tried to dial up to the internet, I was supposed to enter the password of the owner of the Windows 98 (Eric's dad's password). Since I didn't know it or Eric's dad, how was I supposed to get online. Windows... grrr...
Then I dialed Tech Support. The guy was very helpful, but we couldn't think of anything beyond calling Microsoft and having them tell me to go out and buy a copy of my own Windows 98. Finally, we came upon a solution. Delete the password list needed for anything on Windows 98 since it didn't actually protect anything anyway.
I did that and had to hang up with the Tech guy to try to dial in again. So, when I did, I got a very similar error. To make a long story shorter, I ended up calling back, getting transferred, and finding out it was all because my credit was denied!!!
That's what happens when you get yourself into debt. And I can't afford a new CMOS, so I really hope that the computer doesn't do anything else wacky (or at least, wacky on the surface).
