Busy day

June 2, 2002

It started out much too early. I had had a nightmare, and wasn't feeling the most chipper. In fact, I think I pissed my mom off with my crabbiness in the morning. Oh well. I couldn't deal with stuff, so I wasn't even going to try.

Mom, Glo, Sass, and Grandma all wanted to go to church, so I had to get up in time for them to make it so I could be dropped off at Sass's house. I spent that hour or more at Sass's house watching cartoons, playing with legos and watching Tony. I didn't mind the cartoons part or the legos thing, but I was really getting sick of Tony by this point. And bummer of bummers, it was a Bugs Bunny marathon on Cartoon Network (so I didn't get to watch something cool -- or something new since I don't have cable anymore).

After everyone arrived back from church, the house was alive. People were scurrying to eat, some of us needed to change clothes, and others needed to get out the door again to get seats for us at the actual graduation ceremony.

The ceremony was like none I've ever seen. It actually ran the amount of time it promised! Also, it was about an hour. The graduates were called up on either side of the stage. They didn't allow cheering until the very end. They also didn't get pictures of the graduate shaking hands with the principal, so that really cut down costs. After all was done, they threw their caps. It was a very cool thing to see in person.

Afterwards, we all went back to the house. Got some food to go and then most of us headed out. It was nice to leave again. I had a decent time, but it was going to be good to be solo again. Too many people for too long makes Carisa a cranky girl.

On the ride home, Mom and I stopped at a casino. Surprise, surprise, huh?! hehe

We didn't spend too much time there. I actually paid my way this time, but lost it. I didn't spend that much because I have willpower when it comes to slot machines. Enough about that.

We also stopped at a BK. I love Whoppers! :)

When I got home, I was at the bottom of my stairs when I first heard Maxine. She was a lonely little kitty. She was meowing like crazy. She heard me and wanted me there right away! I told my mom to stand at the end of the porch stairs, and even she could hear Maxine! She was just a-hollerin'.

I walked into the apartment and she was all over me. Surprise, surprise, huh?! She rubbed against my legs, practically tripping me a few times. I could barely set my stuff down before she quieted down a bit. She was just so excited to see me again. (I think she has major issues with abandonment. Afterall, she didn't have an owner for two years of her life, and she was brought back to the shelter after 6 months).

I walk into the bedroom and see little Tierna is awake and wanting out. (Or as I prefer to see it, she just wanted attention from me). I opened her cage, and let her out to the couch. She was content. Then I noticed the smell...

The smell was in the bedroom. That much I was sure about. I sniffed around. At first, I thought it was Tierna's cage. Afterall, it had been two days since I cleaned her cage. I sniffed her cage.

No. That wasn't it.

I sniffed around some more. I thought I should look around the apartment elsewhere to make the stink easier to pinpoint. I walked to the bathroom and realized that the toilet was EMPTY! Maxine hadn't gone all weekend! What the hell?! I know she likes to hold it in so she can get a treat (of canned cat food) when she does go, but this was ridiculous. She hadn't even peed in the toilet! I looked in the tub, thinking maybe, just maybe she used that.

Nope. Oh gross. This is going to be gross. I just knew... I knew that the scent in the bedroom was not going to be fun to approach again.

Upon entering the room again, I walked towards the bed. That's definately where the smell was coming from. I pulled back the top blanket (that was actually folded backwards on itself) and I discovered the stink!

It was so strong when I pulled the blanket back that I thought I was going to pass out! Ohh.... so gross. I went into the other room and got paper towel, gloves, a spray bottle, and whatever cleanser I could. I proceeded to spend the next 45 minutes cleaning off my blanket, sheets, bed liner, and egg foam thingie.

I just felt like I was going to gag or pass out or something. The smell was so strong. After it all, it seemed like the smell was just lingering. It was so cold last night that it wasn't a good idea to have the windows open any longer.

All of this, just after I had praised Maxine on being so good. I can't believe her.

At least tonight, while I had all the bedding closed off in the bathroom (because of the smell) she told me she had to go again. I'm very glad she didn't putz around like she usual does. She just didn't do it right.

She squatted on the floor in front of the toilet and just proceeded! What the hell, cat!? I picked her up and put her on the toilet. She didn't even try balancing herself. She just had her back feet on the seat, while I held her chest. It was not even close to a normal "bathroom" position for a cat!

I decided to give her some canned food afterwards because she did come warn me. (I had the bathroom door closed afterall). I am just really disappointed in her. I hope she doesn't try to be a bitch like this anytime soon (because I'm leaving at the end of this month for Ryan's for a week). I need her to be good for whomever watches her at that time.
