I went to Mom's house today. I was inside her air conditioning, thinking about my poor girls in the heat. Maxine is so furry, and fluffy and her body temperature is WAY higher than mine, but that won't make her feel any cooler. Poor girl. And then Tierna. Oh, Tierna. She ended up wanting out of her cage right away like usual. I really didn't want to take her out to the hot, humid couch (so she could sleep under her blanket). Poor thing. :-(
But... I did get to pick some white strawberries at Mom's! Yummy. :) Well, and some catnip, but I wasn't the one excited about that. Mr. Mikey was more than happy about me picking it. hehe... he's funny on catnip.
I wrapped Ryan's present today. I can't wait to give it to him... IN PERSON! Yippee!
Ok. It's too warm and humid to be getting that giddy. hehe. Oh my. Right now, Maxine is laying on the metal folding chair next to me. She's a smart cat. She understands physics enough to have it work for her. :) She knows that metal is a better conductor for heat transfer, and therefore, while she lays on it, it takes the heat from her body (because heat ALWAYS travels down a temperature gradient (sp?)) and displaces it to the chair, in essense, cooling her body.
Well, maybe she doesn't know how it works, it just does.
Or more probable, she just wants to be near me all the time, and the chair is directly to my left. She's laying on the chair that I set out for her so she can be near me. That's only a possibility, ya know :)
Oh, one last thing. I talked on the phone with Ryan for over 5 hours last night, and yet somehow, it didn't even seem like a fraction of that time. Interesting, huh?
