So, to let you know what I've been doing... away from the computer.:
I've hit the half-way point of the papers at Mom's. I think I've done most of the tedious work though. The quantity that I've gone through is definately half-way. I just know that I have to keep at it every night until Ryan gets here. And at that, I might have to do a little bit more! Yikes!
Last night I took apart my entertainment center. That was a chore. I thought I'd be easier, but I guess it would have been if I wasn't such a clutz! I ended up splitting part of my left index finger while undoing some of the little "screws". (There's a special tool that came with the furniture that you need to use to screw in and unscrew the little ... um... screws).
My Disney movies are all packed up. I fit all but two into one box! I'm impressed. I'm one of the best packers ever! Ok... enough bragging. I've also packed up all my DVDs and my Buffy tapes (and Ryan's PS games). It's in a relatively small box, so way-to-go me!
I went through all my paperwork in my "bill" drawer. I finally grouped everything that needed grouping, and got out the necessary bills and other stuff needed for seeing the bankruptcy lawyer on Wednesday.
I've also cleaned out parts of my cupboards and cabinets in the kitchen. That was actually fun and quite easy! I am surprised how much stuff accumulates in cupboards, if given enough time. I remember how empty there were when I first moved in... and how I only really ate doughnuts all the time, so it didn't matter. Ahh... doughnuts.
I've figured out that Maxine will go to Dad's house for a few nights when the big furniture is moved out of the apartment. I figure it will be better for her well-being not to see "her" stuff leaving "her" house. Moving is already tramatic enough for pets, so this one little step gives Maxine nearly unlimited freedom to a bigger living space for a few days before being confined to a car and motel rooms for almost a week.
Other than what I've listed, I've done some other basic cleaning-up type things, like organizing, moving some stuff to Mom's that will stay at Mom's. That sorta thing. I know I have a lot to do yet, and that's why I haven't even updated the pic of the week. I'm bad. Sorry.
I just haven't spent much time on the computer (at my house anyways). I've gone to Mom's house this week a few times and needed to take a break from all the paper sorting so I don't go further insane... so I played a little bit of games and checked email. That's about all though.
Tonight, I was lazy though. I ended up watching TV in the late afternoon with Mom and then we went out to eat and then had to stop at Hobby Lobby to get some more wire. Well... We didn't have to stop, but we were in the area. And I'll need stuff to do while in the car ride all those thousands of miles.
And so, if I've left something out, I'm sure I'll write about it later. I think I'll keep a hand-written journal on the trip, just to make a documented history of it... or something like that. :)
With that, I think I should finish checking my email and see what Ryan's up to.
