Animal Crossing

January 12, 2003 *

My friend, Sarah, got Animal Crossing and a Gamecube for X-mas. She is as hooked to Animal Crossing as I am. I don't know what the alure of the game is, because basically, you have no goal, but it's great fun.

So, anyways, Sarah and I have been collecting different furniture types for our houses. We had just figured out how to do this exchange-of-goods thing at Nook's (the game's only store owner) and send it to someone else that plays the game, even if you don't ever visit their town.

Sarah sent me something for my cabana style house (not really my choice in the furniture area, but the Happy Room Academy (H.R.A.) wants my house to be cabana so I can get more points). I sent Sarah something fruit related. (She's collecting every type of fruit-style furniture).

We were discussing this tonight over dinner, where we were eating out. As we were waiting for our food, the bus boy came over to the table next to ours and cleaned it off. Low and behold, he turns to us and asks us if we are talking about Animal Crossing!!!

No way!

This kid knows about Animal Crossing! hehe... that is so funny!

He tells us that his LITTLE sister plays it all the time. And even he can't understand how addicting it is.

Oh no. This kid is like 16, and his little sister plays it. Damn! I didn't think I'd like a game so much that was non-violent or vulgar or what-have-you, but I didn't realize it was lacking those things until that point.

Sarah and I laughed nearly uncontrollably after the kid asked if we were playing Animal Crossing. Tim and Ryan were laughing nearly as hard, but I think they laughed more when the kid told us that his little sister played the game.

All in all, today was damn funny.
