It wasn't until we went to Castro street that we encountered some really AWESOME and totally bizarre costumes. For example, we saw someone dressed as a nun, but not just any ordinary nun, a flying nun... with moving, kicking legs, flying over a cloud, near a belltower. Yep, the belltower was a large bell in a "tower" stationed in a closed off parking lot with a priest holding landing lights to guide the nun in! It was a great show... some people are so dedicated, it's amazing.
I think I saw a total of 3 Sully's from Monsters, Inc (a warm warm costume, I'm guessing), a lot of people dressed as the typical things like pimps, and devil/angels, monsters, and witches. Then there was a slew of newer types of costumes, like 70's afros, and other time-era things. At one point, we saw someone rollerblading in a wedding dress. Boy, oh boy, was that train dirty.
And then we saw some great homemade costumes, like the aliens from Gary Larson's Far Side, and some dendrites or something like that made of those foam float thingies you get for your pool, and then we saw one of the characters from Monty Python's The Holy Grail -- the Brush Knight guy... umm... I forget his name now, but you get the point. And another original costume -- an end table, complete with working lamp. The lamp was strapped to his back, and the end table was around his waist, with stuff on it like an normal one would have. I was throughly impressed with costumes.
I'm glad that Tim and Sarah came up to see all the sites... ok... Castro Street (which was blocked off for a good chunks of hours) and the party upstairs. Sarah was a bat, and Tim was... ummm.... someone that was a CEO or something... with lots of Donald Trump money and suspenders. I still don't know what Tim was, but he was funny, like usual.
I like candy corn,
