I got a few books there. Stuff on computer programming. It seems every company out there is looking for IT people and nobody else. So I figured I would tone up my skills department a tad and see if that helps.
Even if it doesn't help me immediately, maybe it'll be something I'd like to pursue on a more permanent basis. Ya never know with me. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like Chemical Engineering, I just don't think I'm going back to college anytime soon so I might as well get myself skilled up.
What inspired me, you may ask? I will tell you fine sir (or ma'am). I was looking at all the jobs posted on the Gazette's online site. Either you needed to have some recruiting or management experience or you needed to be an IT person. There were a few exceptions to those previous rules, but those included CDR license, be an RN or something like that.
I got a book on C ++ programming, one on web design. And a few others. And when I checked out the books, I was told they were due back on my birthday. That'll be easy to remember. :)
