A day of the past... again

April 6, 2002

Our weekend of home videos continued today when we watched X-mas 1989 and the start of X-mas 1990. Oh, how my hair was so short. Oh, how my voice was so high-pitched. Oh, how my glasses were so big! hehe

X-mas 1989 wasn't as funny as X-mas 1988 with the whole family. '89 was split into two X-mases. First, on Dec. 23rd, my immediate family had X-mas with Mom's parents, Sass, and Brianna in the back room of a restuarant somewhere in the U.P. I don't really recall where it was exactly, but I know if I thought hard enough about it, I could recall.

The funny stuff started on X-mas day at home that year. Mom, Dad, Erich, and I had a small X-mas together that year. So it was easier to watch and keep all the voices straight and know what was going on. The best part of that year... I had said, "This is from Mom and Dad. Now I'm going to open it." I proceeded to open my present. That, in and of itself isn't funny. But... Erich, following my lead read the names on the tag, and said, "Now I'm going to open it." AFTER he started opening it!

Again, Erich read who the present was from, and then he would say, "Now I'm going to open it" AFTER he started tearing into it! Just, too funny. He would do it again and again. Seriously, I think all but one present of his that he opened that day had the lead-in line!

Time went by and we watched some more.

Next thing we knew... it was Midnight! On the weekend, I guess that's not a big deal to most people, but Mom gets up so early on weeknights that she can't usually stay up that late! It was a shock to both of us when we realized it. Oh my... how time flies when you're knee-deep in memories. ha ha
