Ok... that's getting old quick. Sorry.
Mostly, on the way up, I slept. Well, not really sleeping, but resting. I can't really sleep in a car. It's about a 4 hour trip, so I figured I could at least rest a bit.
When I was awake, I ended up knitting some more. Did I mention that I'm knitting an afgan? I traded in one of my birthday coupons to Mom to learn (or re-learn because I know I had tried when I was little...er... hehe) to knit. I knitted until my fingers were tired. Then we were there.
We stopped at my aunt Sass' house, and found out that my other aunt, Glo, and my grandma had left to get something to eat. Mom and I were the last to arrive. Oh well, it wasn't a race, now was it?
Uneventful afternoon... tick tock
I will add another entry that will be dedicated to the awesome hotel, but until that time, I will say, we went to the hotel, got changed, and drove back to Sass' for dinner. After dinner, we all headed out to see Brianna's dance recital.
Brianna was only in two songs, and the recital lasted over 3 hours! So long. Grandma started to fall asleep, so did Tony (Brianna's little brother -- he's 6). Actually, Tony DID fall asleep. In the final number, the dancers were wearing this really awesome blue (liquid-looking) suit. I leaned over to my mom to say, "Bridemaid's outfits". They were so cool!
After the overly drawn out recital, Mom, Glo, Sass, Grandma, Brianna and myself went to the hotel. Glo had brought some clothes for my mom too look through (because Glo has shrunk out of them due to her diet and my mom is getting to that size right now, so she can have clothes for much cheaper than she normally would). So, Sass and my mom were looking through the clothes and trying some on.
The fashion show never happened in full swing, but we did get a short dance out of the sisters. That was amusing. Overall, we had a girls night. A giggle fest if you will. I got a chance to chat with Brianna. It's been a very long time since that happened. I can't believe she's almost ready to graduate! How quickly time flies when you don't see someone. (Okay... it only works in some cases... not being around a boyfriend, for example, goes much the opposite way).
I promise I'll write about the hotel experience soon.
