Let's just start by giving a brief play-by-play. I was woken up by a phone call at 1 pm (ish) by Dad. He bitched about me not calling the Humana guy back. I told him my alarm didn't go off (probably due to Maxine stepping on it. Oh well). I got off the phone with Dad, washed my face, took a swig of OJ and called Jerry (from Humana).
Got his machine. Left a message for him to call me. Then I sat around waiting for Diane to call. When she didn't by quarter to two, I called her. She laughed and said she was just looking up my number to call me. We talked about potential jobs, with me filling her in on more of what I'd like to do and what I'm trying to avoid.
She was looking through the Employment Weekly and came across a job that she thought sounded ideal for me... not FT, not a lot of customer interaction, variety, yadda yadda yadda. I asked how many hours because she is still under the impression that I could get disability! Ha! That's a joke!
I finally asked where that place was: she said some flower shop! Me?! Flowers?! That's hilarious! It was a flower arranger person! Ha! In fact, I started laughing as soon as she read the name. I explained to her that I am the least likely person to be found in a flower shop, so she replied with, "I'm glad you are telling me. It helps. It really does." (or something along those lines).
Anyways, it rolled around to her finding a job... at *gasp* Goodwill. She came and picked me up. I figured we would just stop in and get the application, but instead I was interviewed right on the spot! I was not even closely prepared (clothes-wise) because I was wearing my rattiest (excuse the expression Tierna, Sally, and Quincy) jeans and just a plain T. The interview part went very well though. Diane thought it went so well, she praised me on my good answers when we were leaving. How weird is that?!
After arriving back at my house, I checked my machine. I got a message from someone other than Jerry! About a job! Could I believe all this luck?! well... quite frankly, no. :)
It was this Jessica chick. I called her back. She works at Schneider National. She said she'd like to do a phone interview, so I have one set up for Monday morning! How cool is that?! Finally, some positive results, for once.
I never got a call back from Jerry. I did get a call from Mom and she was excited to hear about the day's events thus far. It was nice to have "news" to report, for once. So, I guess overall, I had a good day and that was attributed to quite a few positive moments.
