I was rather groggy, even though Maxine amazingly turned off the alarm again. I felt like I had to keep myself awake enough so I would be tired for sleeping tonight (since we are leaving tomorrow). I feel bad that I didn't get over to Mom's house before it started raining, but I don't think I would have even made the walk, let alone mow the uneven yard. :(
Switching topics now...
If someone told me that I was going to see Ray Dempsey today, I would have told them they were lying. (For those of you who don't know who Ray is: he was a friend of my brother's first. Then I dated him for a whole 2 or 3 whoppin' weeks. He thought Googie was awesome and the relationship didn't end on bad terms). He saw me downtown, as I was walking to the bus depot.
My first reaction was: "Wow! You're so much taller now!" (Seriously, I dated him and he was only 2 inches or so taller than me, and now he's just under 6 feet). We chit-chatted while we walked. He's apparently going to school little credit by little credit to become hopefully a math teacher. That made sense to me. Seeing as he was smart in HS and all. (People can change, but he seems like he didn't screw up his life).
We got to the intersection where we were going to part ways, so we wrapped up our conversation by bringing it around to Erich. Apparently he still keeps in contact with Erich or some of his friends because he knew Erich lost a bunch of weight. It's really cool to know that much. It's really nice to know Ray still has connections to friends.
Makes me wish I could have kept better connections to college friends. It feels like I was in college oh-so-long ago and I feel like I've lost touch with them. (Not everyone, but tons and tons of people).
I really didn't want to end this on a bad note. Hmm... What else to talk about? Oh. I know.
Maxine is fully converted to toilet-usage! She still does her potty meow, but now she goes on her own (regardless of the light intensity in the bathroom -- she always wanted the light on before). She lets me know after she's done so she can get potty reward (canned cat food). Sometimes she tries to wake me in the nighttime, but other times she knows better. Overall, I'm damn proud of her!
